Reinforcement for Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology

The University of Leipzig receives international reinforcement in the Department of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology for one year.

Yemataw Wondie Yehualashet, Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Gondar (Ethiopia), has received the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's Georg Forster Award worth 60,000 euros. The scientist was nominated by professional colleagues from Leipzig and, as the award winner, can now continue and further expand the long-standing cooperation between the two universities on site. The prize honors internationally recognized researchers from emerging countries who work on development-related topics. Common areas of work include psycho-oncology, psychometric analyses of questionnaires, cross-cultural differences in mental health issues, and psychotraumatology. The research award is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
