Call for Abstracts: CBC Conference 2026 strengthens Leipzig as a research region

With the CBC Conference 2026 – Connecting Biodiversity, Climate, and Human Behavior, the Leipzig region is once again positioning itself as a high-performing science location in a key field of the future. The international conference is dedicated to the interplay between biodiversity, climate change, and human behavior – topics that are highly relevant both scientifically and socially.

The conference is being organized by a consortium of Central German research institutions, including four members of the Leipzig Science Network e. V. (LSN). It thus underscores the strength of regional cooperation and the visibility of our network partners in an international context.

Platform for interdisciplinary cooperation

In 13 thematic sessions, the CBC Conference brings together current research on:

  • Ecosystem stability
  • Climate extremes
  • Land use
  • Urban spaces
  • Human behavior
  • Data- and model-based approaches in the CBC context

The program includes keynotes by international experts, parallel sessions, poster presentations, a panel discussion, and excursions. The conference thus offers a space for interdisciplinary exchange, new project ideas, and strategic partnerships—both within the region and beyond.

Submit contributions now and increase visibility

Network partners are expressly invited to participate with their own research contributions and to bring regional expertise into the international discourse.

The Call for Abstracts is open until 14th of April 2026.

Further information on submissions and the conference program can be found at the Conference Website.
